Group visit to the Marine Design Centre

The Marine Design Centre (MDC) has been established to raise the profile of the marine sector in North East England.   

The MDC is a portal for anyone looking to call on the skills that the marine sector in North East England has on offer, and focuses on opportunities within the commercial marine, naval & marine energy sectors.  

It assists companies who seek new business opportunities, provides the facilities for collaboration and networking and promotes the development of new skills and technology.  

You are invited to explore the MDC, a state of the art facility in the heart of Newcastle, North East England to view the facilities and take a brief tour of the Centre.  

Dr David Hewitt, Director of the MDC, will update you on the MDC’s activities and plans, and Pat Rutherford, Operations Manager at Seawell Ltd, will update you on Seawell’s activities since setting up the business in North East England last year.  

Seawell provides well services, including production drilling and well maintenance, concept studies, drilling facility upgrading and mechanical & electrical wireline services.   

This group visit is open to all.  However, it is ideal for companies that undertake in-house design work, sub-contract design activities or use agency designers.  If you are looking to link up with local design partners or seeking to benefit from the opportunities that arise by working closely with design companies in the early stages of a project, you would benefit from association with the Marine Design Centre.
