Optimising On-Board Fluid System Design
Thu, 04 Feb 2010
4th & 18th February 2010
Marine Design Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne
Workshops with Flowmaster
As technologies increase in complexity and capability, the need to model systems without over-engineering is growing. The challenge to marine designers and engineers is to assemble a group of components that will ensure performance and durability in diverse conditions, within financial constraints.
For many years, Flowmaster’s thermo fluid technology has assisted Naval Architects and Marine Engineers to create accurate analytical models of fluid networks using industry standard components, and to analyse how they would perform under varied operating conditions. Flowmaster system analysis software has been used across a wide range of marine companies to design modern solutions for the increasing range of ship fluid systems and new technologies such as alternative refrigerants, power train types, compressor drives, etc.
Introduction: 4th February 2010
Find out how leading marine companies have overcome fluid issues, and the part Flowmaster played in this resolution.
Topics covered will include marine thermal management, flow balancing, Fire Safety deluge and ballast distribution, with discussion inspired by theseand other less common examples . This is designed to introduce Flowmaster software and its applications in these areas.
Registration & refreshments: 10.00 Workshop: 10.30 Lunch: 12.30
Fundamentals: 18th February 2010
This workshop will see further in-depth discussion of the issues raised in the first session.
Attendees will get the opportunity to interact with the technology, start their own network, build components and then interrogate and alter it. After lunch, we will illustrate how the tool can be used to great effect with variable parameters on frequently encountered networks. Flowmaster engineers will be on hand to walk you through.
Registration & refreshments: 09.00 Workshop: 09.30 Close: 14.30
Refreshments & lunch provided during workshop
You are welcome to attend just one or both workshops, and attendance is free of charge, although registration is required.
